This week we learned how to remove our wounds from the moulds and how to apply them to the skin and blend them in.
Tools:
Talcum Powder/ Loose Powder
Brush
Prozade Glue
Cotton Buds
Alcohol
Flesh Tones Alcohol Activated Palette
Supra Colour Palette
Take your mould with the silicone wound still attached, and gently apply powder onto the top with the brush to reduce some of the stickiness.
Then begin to apply the powder around the edges of the wound until it begins to lift up from the silicone mould. Doing this on a flat surface will make the process easier.
Continue to add more and more powder with the brush, pushing up under the wound helping it to gently lift off, remember to be gentle so that you don't rip the silicone!
Eventually the wound will lift completely off the mould, apply more powder to the piece to prevent it curling up and sticking together. You will use a lot of powder!
Once your wound is ready to be applied prep the skin by making sure that it is clean.
Now apply prozade glue to the wound and to the model's skin, using a cotton bud.
Wait until the glue goes clear and firmly apply it to the skin, making sure to smooth it out.
Now take alcohol and more cotton buds and begin to blend the edges of the piece into the skin. The use of the Baldiez in the making process will allow the edges to be smoothed out more easily and will create a more natural finish.
Now take the Flesh Tones Alcohol Activated Palette and begin to colour the wound to your desired shade.
You can now begin to add more colours to the piece, such as using the Kryolan Supra Colour Palette to make it as realistic as possible!
