Hair Chart 1 Final Design:
This is the hair design that I have created for my human hybrid look. I wanted to create a look that I could use to show the aquatic and wet element of my hybrid as well as it being a look that would show up the colour continuation that I plan to carry out. I wanted to create a wet slicked back look, I think that this instantly creates a wet effect which is a key element in my look. The slicked back design also supports my idea of the 'Brave New World' as it makes my hybrid streamlined, allowing them to move quickly and easily through the water. I have shown the idea of colour continuation in this design as that is what I will be doing in the assessment. I will be using the MAC sealing gel in the assessment as it will create a very strong and hard wet look which will also allow the application of the colour to be easier. For the colour element I will be using the Kryolan Aqua Colour Palette due to the high pigmentation of the products.
Hair Chart 2:
In this look I decided to create the effect of french plaits going down the head towards the neck. I want to have the hair pulled back off my model's face for my design to show off the colour but to also create a slicked back look. Like in the first design I would like my hybrid to be streamlined and to also replicate the smooth body of a real fish. I thought that the plaits would be interesting as, as well as keeping the hair pulled back they would create some interesting texture which would be picked up well by the application of colour onto them. I decided not to use this look as I wanted to try to create a wet shiny and more streamlined look, like that of a fish, and thought that the texture of the plaits would not allow for this.
Look 3:
I had considered using a bald cap in my hybrid to create a perfectly seamless look and to allow a complete colour and prosthetic continuation all over the body. I did however feel that the lack of texture may be a mistake. I think that the texture of the hair is important as it can be used to replicate some of the texture created on a fish in the form of scales. Fish fins are also usually textured with lines, I would like to try to replicate these lines in the hair. I have also not previously used bald caps and thought that it would be too risky to try them out for the first time in the assessment.
