My Character

When creating my wound I had to think of a character to go along side it, to make it as realistic as possible. I will be shooting this character in my next lesson, once my wound is ready for application. I have created a second degree burn based upon an image that was obtained from coming in contact with a hot oven. Therefore I want my character's burn to be related to cooking. I then thought about how the burn could have happened and whether it was due to carelessness or just an accident. I decided that I wanted it to be carelessness and decided that I wanted my character to be a young girl coming in from a night out drunk, wanting a pizza. The burn would have been a result of carelessness and reduced senses due to the alcohol. I want my burn to be located on the outer edge of her lower arm so that it looks as though she has reached into the oven and brushed against the edge of the hot surface. The image however that I am working from clearly is that of a blister which has burst. Although I initially wanted my characters appearance to be that of it happening straight after, I realised that this would not work with a realistic timescale.

I wanted my character's make up to be heavy but messy. I wanted it to look as if she went out at  the beginning of the night looking perfect, but gradually over the night and after alcohol consumption started to look more smudged and wild. I also wanted it to look as if she has been crying due to the pain, and high emotions and wanted to try to represent that through smudged mascara and messy eyeliner. However I realised that this concept would not work with the type of wound that I was creating. Therefore I want to create a natural looking student, with casual, but nice make up with realistic looking hair and clothes. I will create a natural looking eye with some eyeliner, as I think that this is a common look seen on many students, with a natural nude lip.

I originally wanted my model to wear a dress and heels as if coming in from a night out, however I realise that this will not work so will keep it more casual with a jumper or comfy shirt.
