I was initially intending to create prosthetic webbed hands but after consideration of my time during the assessment decided that I would create them out of the same material that I will be dressing my model in. I thought that creating them out of the bubble wrap would not only tie in with the chosen outfit but will also add definition and a scale like texture to the webbed areas.
I began creating the webbed hands by drawing round my models hand on to the bubble wrap. I did this so I could get an idea of the size of my models hands and how large the webbed area would need to be.
After drawing round them I created the web effect by drawing a connecting line between each of the fingers. I then cut out the hand shapes including the web areas, I left the finger shapes around the webs so that I am able, in the assessment, to alter the size of the webbed areas. I repeated these steps twice so that I created 2 webbed hands for my hybrid.
I will colour the webbed areas with the same colour that I am applying to the piece around the chest and will be applying them by simply sticking them with tape to the palm of the hand.
