Creating My Character

After my failed wound I went back and re-did the removal, application and character creation process. Before I began the process I was nervous that it would fail again. I was worried as I was sure that I had carried the process out properly before and if it failed again I would be unsure of why it didn't work.

Initially when I started to try to remove the wound from the mould it was not coming easily, and it slightly ripped. However after persevering it came out and I could clearly see that it was much better than the first attempt. It was a lot thinner and smoother than the last time and the edges were a lot smoother and the Baldiez had clearly worked at thinning them out. It was also curling up a lot less making it easier to handle. The application and blending was also a lot more successful. This time I could blend the Baldiez in to the skin rather than just the silicone meaning that it looked a lot more natural.

I had the image that I was working from with me so I was able to try to colour match it and make it look realistic. I used my supra colour palette to add the colour as they are easily blendable and it contains a wide range of shades. I was pleased with how the colouring turned out, I noticed that there was a lot of yellow in the wound so tried to include that. I believe that I might have used too much yellow, which have made it look slightly theatrical, but for a first attempt I thought it was quite successful.

I also thought that the character creation was successful; I thought that it looked quite realistic and believable. I kept the make up that I created quite simple to reflect the normality and simple nature of my character, and I believe that I carried the make up application out to a good standard. I was however unsure if it was exciting enough, this is my usual worry in units, but think that it worked.
